SUN Bucks 2025

SUN Bucks, also known as Summer EBT, is a program to help families buy food for their school-aged children during the summer. Families will get a one-time benefit of $120 per year for each eligible child to help buy groceries during the summer months. Children who get SUN Bucks can still participate in other summer meal programs. Receiving SUN Bucks will not affect children or families' immigration status. For families who were pre-approved in January or applied and received a notice of approval since the application opened, benefits were recently distributed as follows (based on the primary applicant’s, not the child’s, last name): May 28 – A to G, May 29 – H to M, May 30 – N to S, May 31: T to Z. The one-time $120 benefit per eligible child was put onto a new or the household’s existing EBT card. For those that have not yet applied, the SUN Bucks application is available until 5 pm on August 29, 2025. Visit SUNBucks.dcf.ks.gov for more information.

Back to School/Parent Night – Tuesday, August 12th

PLEASE PLAN TO ATTEND BACK TO SCHOOL/PARENT NIGHT! THIS IS SUCH AN IMPORTANT NIGHT FOR YOU TO LEARN MORE ABOUT EXPECTATIONS FROM YOUR CHILD’S TEACHER FOR THE YEAR!

5:15pm – Third Grade Parent Night               6:15pm- Fourth Grade Parent Night               7:15pm – Fifth Grade Parent Night

 

Bring school supplies (clearly labeled) and meet your teacher in the classroom. 

After you drop off your child’s school supplies, parents/guardians will stay in the classroom for PARENT NIGHT information! Students will be dismissed to a specified location (staff will be on hand to supervise).

Thursday, August 14th will be the first day of school for Grades 1 – 5. It will be a full day of school

Breakfast served from 7:40am – 7:55am

First Bell – 7:55am

Tardy Bell – 8:00am

Last Bell – 3:20pm (Bus Students at 3:15pm; Walkers/Riders, Boys & Girls Club at 3:20pm) Students (other than those eating breakfast) should arrive as close to 7:55am as possible.

Students (other than students riding buses) should not arrive to school prior to 7:40am. There will be no teachers on duty until this time. Students will report to their classrooms as soon as they arrive and will eat their breakfast in the classroom (if they are breakfast eaters).

All Fridays will be Early Release for PLC Teaming – West Students will be released at 2:10pm (Bus Riders) and 2:10pm (Walker/Car Riders/BGC).
